0% Teaser Rate Credit Card Ratings

If you just started 2017 with a bit of a debt hangover and are looking for some great suggestions on where to transfer that irksome high balance on your credit card or cards, we just published our Best 0% Teaser Rate Credit Card Offers.

If you are looking for a break from high interest rates (fees and finance charges) on your current cards by taking advantage of the longest transfer 0% APR up to 21 months, you will find 0% card offers listed below or on our partner site.

The best 0% teaser rate offers only last for a limited time, which is typically from 6-21 months, and are also called low introductory rate or low intro rate offers.

They usually also have a fee associated with them called a balance transfer fee that is charged on the front end (much like a front loaded fee on a mutual fund) and is typically around 3% of the amount transferred, but can be as high as 5%+. There are a few rare 0% offers that have no fee.

Please note that some of these offers also feature a 0% APR rate on purchases that applies to new purchases. There is not typically be a fee involved on 0% purchase rate offers (the fees apply to balance transfers). The best offers have a 0% rate on purchases AND balance transfers.

Chase Slate and Citi Simplicity: 0% Rating

These are two well worth considering for balance transfers. Chase Slate* offers 0% APR for 15 months on both purchases and balance transfers, and transfers are done with no balance transfer fee, making it a rare offer among the nationally issued cards.

The Citi® Simplicity® Card* offers 0% APR for even longer at 21 months, but does come with an industry standard 3% balance transfer fee.

What to Look For:
When trying to reduce the interest you are currently paying for, the key things to look for are: how long the low rate will last, how much does it cost to transfer the balance or balances and whether you already have a card from that issuer. \

Usually, balance transfer introductory offers are only offered to new cardholders. If you already carry a card from that card issuer, they may not be interested in approving the card to transfer balances.

Compare Your Options

  • Chase Slate®: 0% for 15 months for purchases and balance transfers with no balance transfer fee; transfers must be started in the first 60 days of account opening; no annual fee; free access to monthly FICO score

  • Wells Fargo Platinum Visa® Credit Card 0% for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers; up to $600 cell phone protection; free FICO score; no annual fee

Also, many financial experts are predicting multiple rate increases in 2017 from the Feds. With the potential for higher rates, now is a good time to lock in a 0% interest rate and begin paying down your credit card debt.

Discover

Discover offers two products that are great for balance transfers, the Discover it* card which offers 0% on balance transfers for 18 months and 6 months for purchases. Their Discover it Cashback Match* card offers 0% for both balance transfers and purchases for 14 months.

Wells Fargo Platinum Visa: 0% Teaser for 15 months

Wells Fargo also offers a 15 month 0% offer for both balance transfers and purchases.

SunTrust

SunTrust offers two cards with a dual 15 month 0% offer as well for both balance transfers and purchases with their SunTrust Cash Rewards MasterCard and their Travel Rewards MasterCard.

Santander Sphere® Signature Card

Although this has a bit higher fee for balance transfers at 4%, we feel it is definitely worth mentioning as it is currently running the longest low introductory rate offer at 0% APR for 24 months.

Although the balance transfer fee is a bit higher than others, having an additional 3 months at 0% may more than makeup for the difference in the upfront fee cost. After all, you can pay off quite a bit of debt in three months.

There are dozens of debit cards on the market, many of them issued by the same bank, but fee structures are vastly different. Bestprepaiddebitcards.com has done all the research for you and provides comprehensive reviews to help you decide which card is best for you.

According to their website, CSL Plasma operates one of the world’s largest plasma collection networks, with more than 270 plasma collection centers in U.S., Europe and China and has over 12,000 employees.

CSL gives donors a prepaid Visa out instead of issuing a check as it’s cheaper for CSL and keeps donors from paying high check cashing fees (plasma payouts used to be made using a paper check). Also it’s more convenient thank a paper check, especially if the client or customer doesn’t have a banking relationship (i.e. is underbanked or unbanked).

They offer a few different types of prepaid products: the Prepaid Blue MasterCard, Platinum MasterCard, Veteran’s MasterCards, Red Visa and Bank of America (BofA) Visa.

Consumer Note! Want to get a prepaid Visa that you can reload (the CSL Plasma Visa is not reloadable with your own money or paycheck) with all the benefits and features of a regular bank account?

    Visa and MasterCard Benefits

You can review your balance and get transaction history before swiping your card.
Sign-up for text messaging to get instant alerts regarding your balance, last payment and last transaction- you can use the BofA Prepaid mobile app
Turn your card on/off with the app

If you have transaction or fee related questions, CSL requests that you call the toll-free number on the back of your reloadable prepaid Visa – do not ask a CSL employee for card related questions.

IMPORTANT: Representatives handling reloadable prepaid cards will NEVER contact you by phone, email or text message for your card information, such as your account number or PIN (unless you initiate the call). To protect yourself please do NOT provide your card information to anyone. It is recommended that you reset your PIN periodically to ensure account security.

How to File a Complaint Against the CSL Plasma Visa Debit Card:

If you have contacted Bank of America, that issues this offer, and are unable to resolve your account issues in good faith, we strongly suggest taking the following steps:

    1) Please post your account issues and problems at the bottom of this page in our cardholder comments section.

    2) Notify Bank of America (ask to speak to a manager or decision maker) that you have complained in writing on BestPrepaidDebitCards.com (feel free to take a screen shot and post on social media as well), a consumer advocacy site that has been featured for years in many major national media outlets.

Also, feel free to share that your post can be shared by our site with members of the media (we will change your name to protect your privacy and will certainly not share any personal account info).

    3) Consider also filing your grievance with the BBB and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and your state’s Attorney General Office.

CSL Plasma Visa Prepaid Review- Is it Legit, a Rip off or a Scam (Cardholder Complaints Below)? Prepaid Blue, Platinum, Red and Veteran’s Offers

Pros: There is no monthly maintenance fee or activation or purchase fee. Also no fees if you use your PIN number when making a purchase (some competitors charge if you make a purchase using a PIN number).

Cons: $1.75 fee for in-network ATM cash withdrawals (in comparison, many other prepaid Visas have free in network withdrawals). In our last review, there were no free ATM withdrawals.

Fortunately, now you will get one free in network withdrawal per month. However, if you make more than one ATM withdrawal per month, fees to get cash can add up quickly.

It is hard to find cardholder reviews of the CSL Plasma Visa and MasterCard debit offers so please share your bad and/or good experiences below. An expert will typically respond to your question or issue within 24 hrs. and your post will help empower other consumers! 🙂

While we do not believe it is a scam or ripoff (i.e. it is legit). The bottom line is that there are other prepaid debit cards that have better and more benefits

If you have a customer or consumer complaints or praises about the CSL reloadable offer, then please post your opinions and problems below (and read the other helpful cardholder reviews at the bottom of this page)! I am a platinum doner at csl The card is a big scam . I get charged 1..50 whether I use the card or not . The most I got charged was 16

And the fees come out right on donation days to put your balance below what you got for donating so you can’t withdraw your money . Scam. Because of this and I tried to reach out to speak to anyone as soon as I get back to work reg i am going to stop donating sick of the card Scam.

Jennifer Hawes March 23, 2023 at 2:19 am
Yep, it doesn’t make it worth donating because your actually making less than what they pay you.

Even if you pay inside for gas, they still hold double the amount for 48 hours.
