If you did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 or your income level did not permit you to file taxes, then you do need to give the IRS some information to get your Stimulus Money. There is an online form you can fill out to give the IRS what you need by clicking here. But we first suggest trying to call your local IRS office. Be very cautious of scams.

Will I Get Less than $1,200 of the Coronavirus Stimulus Money?

If you make over $75,000 adjusted gross income then yes you may still get a Coronavirus Stimulus Check but it will be less than $1,200. For every $100 over $75,000 your stimulus check will be reduced by $5. At this rate if your adjusted gross income is $99,000 then you will not be receiving any stimulus money for those who filed taxes individually in 2018 or 2019.

If your taxes in 2018 or 2019 were submitted as married filing jointly then this same rate applies above $150,000. So for every $100 over $150,000 your check will be reduced by $5. At that rate, if you made over $198,000 then you will not be receiving any stimulus money for those who filed taxes as married filing jointly in 2018 or 2019.

Can I get my Coronavirus Stimulus Money Deposited on a Prepaid Card?

If you do not have a bank account, then this is a way of getting your money without having to wait around for a check. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said it is taking regulatory action to pave the way to make it easier for consumers to receive pandemic-relief payments, including the economic impact payments authoriezed in the CARES Act, through prepaid accounts.

We would assume the same goes for all prepaid debit cards where you have received your 2018 & 2019 tax refunds. We know taxpayers who have received their tax returns on prepaid cards through TurboTax will get there Stimulus money on their TurboTax debit card. We would assume the same goes for the other Tax Prep services such as Jackson Hewitt, H & R Block.

This will vary. The first round of stimulus money will be received by those who have given the IRS their bank account information for direct deposit of their tax returns in 2018 & 2019.
